Can You Purchase Used Medical Surgical Equipment?
One of the questions I hear a lot around the hospital when it comes time to cut corners and save money on the budget, is do we always have to purchase brand new equipment or can we purchase used Medical Surgical Equipment? The answer is, that it depends on what type of equipment specifically your talking about. Scissors, syringes, and the like are required to be purchased new and in a sealed container/bag. Hospitals, however, do save money with recycling of old equipment. When you use and dispose of something you can recycle it and get partial credit on that equipment when restocking!
