Today with the high level of identity theft going on, having a paper shredder is becoming more and more of a necessity. There are a variety of types out the that can do the job well. Just keep in mind that the less pieces it cuts the paper into, the less secure the information is from theft. If the theif thinks it is worth it, they will sift through the strips of paper from the strip shredder to try and find the pieces to the puzzle. If the paper contains something like credit card information, it is worth the time and effort the theif has to put in to line up the pieces. If you are planing on disposing of sensitive documents, it may be a bettter idea to get a cross shredder. By cutting in both directions, this type of shredder makes it a whole lot easier to keep your confidential trash, confidential.
